  • 2003 X30 Ballast Upgrade

IT takes forever to fill all my bags with the 1 hole in the bottom of the boat. Trying to build up the courage to drill two more holes in the bottom of the boat to remove that common header set up.

Any advice on how to or where to put them?

Think I need one more side hole since I all the ballast blows out 2 holes now and I have 3 pumps.

    Thanks

Have a look at this thread. I did exactly what you are thinking of doing. You should definitely DO IT.
Also, you have to remove the manifold.

      What happened?

I've got an 03 Maristar 230 and I'm looking to do the same thing. Did you drill holes in your boat? What sort of additional materials did you need for hoses/pumps/control modules, etc.?

I did this last summer with some help from prostar205's link.

I did 910lb bags in the rear lockers, custom sized fatsac in the center, and a bow bag in the nose. Re-ran all the lines in 1" besides the vent's which stayed 3/4". It takes about 10 minutes to empty/or fill all of it and I am super happy with it.

I included my order list with part numbers on a spreadsheet ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1a5a...ew?usp=sharing )

I am 6' tall and the surf wave is above my hips!

Hard to tell from the photo, but where in NorCal are you? I have the same boat as you- if you're anywhere near Sonoma county, I'd like to check out your install. I'm thinking about installing two more intakes so I can ditch the ballast manifold. Curious where you installed yours.

That is actually at Lucky Peak in Boise, ID. We moved here about a year ago now (don't tell the locals) . I'll snap some pictures of the install this weekend.

Small world. I used to live in Boise, moved to the Bay Area about 20-odd years ago. Really enjoyed Boise- floating the river in the summer, mountain biking Camel Back park, night snowboarding at Bogus Basin. Love where I live now, but I do kinda miss it a little.

Hey, thanks for this! I didn't get an email on the reply so it took me a while to see it. I like the setup and the results!!! I've got an order spec'd out on Wakemakers as well. Any tips on drilling the holes in your boat? I don't have much experience with this and I'm open to suggestions.
