Bigger Alternator

Looking for a recommendation on where to purchase a larger alternator for my '05 X-Star. Had a custom one built on last boat and proved to be pain in the *** to get the kinks worked out. Just was a strait up replacement plug and play kind of deal.

I've got the same year X-Star and need to replace my alternator w/ bad bearing..

if you guys have the 4 wire delco plug alternator, I have a 140 plug and play alternator. It puts out 90 amps at idle and 140 at 2000RPM and above. Works awesome, I have one in stock right now for $399.99.

Bruce my alternator quit yesterday do i need this type or is a standard/stock one good enough for my application? i don't have any big amps or speakers running just the stock radio,. and the engine! thanks

Bruce - Appreciate the heads up on the 140 alternator. If I was going to upgrade electrical system, I'd seriously consider it.


Supturb89 and cloaked - Thanks for pointing me to DB Electric! I purchased new 90 amp alternator from them last week for <$100 to replace my 90 amp Delco.

I installed the 110 amp delco 10si style alternator from DBElectrical on my LTR. I had to clearance the bracket with a grinder and the "3 wire" wiring is different than the OE Leece-Neville "3 wire" wiring. It works fine once I got everything straight and is much nicer to have 105 amps vs. 51 amps.
