  • 1989 prostar electric ignition

I have a 1989 prostar with ford 351 engine it currently had points as I had electric before and it failed, suspect a cheap manufacturer parts installed. I want to change it back to electric as quick fix points now starting to wear. Can you please advise the right parts to pick.

I've heard a lot about the petronix flamethrower and the igniter 2.
Is this the correct setup. If so what voltage am I looking to get from coil? And does any changes to ballast resistor need to be made ?

    Thanks

As I recall, I just pulled the ID number off my distributor and typed it in to their database.

If in doubt, just call the good people there. During the install, I believe the instructions called for me to bypass the resistor. It was a straight-forward job, took about an hour and a half (including beer break).
