2013 X2 wont start.....again!!!

Hope you get it resolved. I would have probably pulled it out of the shop, tossed a match in it and called the insurance company by now! jk
I would hope MC covers it, with the repeat history of issues and being still/almost in warranty.
The one thing that made me stick with MC after my first boat was how MC and Indmar treated me with an issue with my old PS 190. In short, a part that had been replaced by the dealer when the PO owned it, 100% due to the PO's negligence, shorted out again. (Not due to operator error)
I bought the boat private party, out of warranty, new parts were well out of warranty as well.
After many failed diagnostic attempts on my own, I felt it could only be the ECM.
Took it to the same dealer as the problem was now above my pay grade/skills/tools. After a failed diagnosis or 2 by the dealer, they got it figured out. Never charged me for shop time for the failed diagnosis, were VERY fair about the service charges they did charge me, AND stepped up and covered 1/2 the parts cost of the new ECM.
Was one of the best customer service experiences I ever had.

Here is an update. The dealer had a porter come pick the boat up last week. They said that once they updated the software the problems resolved themselves. I further explained the continued issue with the relays failing and explained that replacing relays every 3-5 hours of use was not a long term solution. They are investigating further and I should hear back any day now. My fingers are crossed that this is the end of the problems with this boat.

Time, patience and be systematic. The only way to find voltage drops is when the circuit is under load or you'll get a false good reading (being a spark, you'll know that already however). Electronics will do some crazy stuff when not getting a good supply, the MMDC on my xstar was going nuts until I figured out the breaker between the alternator and starter was heavily corroded. Check all the connetions that run major currents.

A friends 2012 X2 that sporadicly did not start unless he turned the battery swich to combine. It took him forever to find out that a spring washer was mounted between between the ring wire terminal and the screw on the battery switch, instead of on top, and thus reducing the contact surface to almost nothing.

This boat needs to be plugged in to a diagnostic computer... sounds like something important corroded. Maybe the computer could speed up search

Not sure if this will help or not but I had a 2007 GMC Yukon Denali and for about 2 years I was constantly having random issues, from the vehicle just stopping while running, to the entire dash flashing and clicking on and off, 2 fried starters and having to boost it randomly every couple of weeks. The alarm would also randomly activate while driving and doors would star locking and unlocking really quickly until I turned the vehicle off. Had it looked at a couple of times and mechanics always said battery was good because it had charge. Finally bought a cheap battery tester for $30 and it told me the battery was as bad as it could get. I put new battery in and not an issue until I sold it.

check your grounds. I had similar problems (fortunately they found the route cause quickly) it was a loose ground block. cleaned and tightened that up and everything has been fine since.

coincidentally it is also a 2013 x2; though i doubt that has anything to do with it.

I am an electrician by trade and I cant pin it down. I finally got it to start, (another 30A relay), but it would shut back off after about 30 seconds. It would not come off of idle before it shut down. I also don't know what to do about the screen. This is the 3rd screen in the 2 years I have owned the boat. I am certainly not interested in continuing on this trend of replacing the control screen every 10-12 months. I am really missing my '08 that I let go to get into this '13. That boat was flawless for over 500 hours.

If this is constantly happening when the boat is not on a tender, then something is draining those batteries. The trick is figuring out what is causing it. Mine is never, ever on a tender, and it's a 2012 with power friggin everything too. Dave is absolutely on the right track with checking grounds, cables, etc. Don't throw new batteries at it until you find the drain source. Best of luck!!

I can't speak for the newer boat electrics, but I'd start with the basics.

Charge batteries, have them tested.
Check all connections, grounds, cables, large connector at engine harness, etc.
Have charging system checked for over-charging (perhaps something like that is burning up the relays?)

Check kill switch. Check fuel pump connector plug.

I'd be frustrated too, but replacing parts more than once means the cause was never found.

I have a 2013 X2 with 200 hours and it has been a nightmare since the day I purchased it. It seems that every time I get in this boat something is wrong with the electrical system. The screen has been replaced 3 times, the relays on the block in the engine compartment burn up constantly, the batteries require a constant battery tender, and now the boat won't even turn over and the screen is showing a picture of a USB drive when it finishes the boot cycle. I have not used the boat in about a month and I think my $100 battery tender may have given up the ghost so the batteries had gone almost dead. I put the charger on the batteries and it still wont turn over. The starter wont even engage. I figured it was another relay but I swapped those around and still nothing. Anyone had these problems? What do I do about the boot USB picture on the screen? Anyone in the market for a very nice X2 that has very little use because something is always wrong with it?
