  • No more fuel sender unit problems

Hey guys, if you've been having problems with you fuel level staying consistant or not reading at all it could be your fuel level sending unit. If that's the problem my suggestion is to invest in a sender made by Wema.

Im telling you it's the best manufactured fuel level or water level sending unit you will buy. I have been through about 4 sending units and they all sucked, not giving me the correct reading or not reading at all. These sending units can also be used in your ballast tanks. I installed my new fuel level sending unit in my 92 Barefoot 200, which has a tank depth of 7.5 inches, but they recommend using a 6.5 inch ( -1 inch) unit because a plastic fuel tank flexes. Check em out..

    Which one did you purchase?

I'm ready to change mine out for the third time.
Devil made me do it the first time.
Second time, I did it on my own.

      Wema Fuel Sender

Go with the SSS model. It's stainless steel and has the float collar, like the one your boat most likely came with. The ohm's range is 240emty-30full. High quality construction.....

      Here is the link:

*MAKE SHURE YOUR CONNECTIONS TO YOUR GUAGE ARE GOOD* t

even if there is alittle corrosion it will through the ohm's reading off which will reflect on you correct fuel reading.........

Has anyone replaced their sender with one of these? My sender is toast and I was thinking about putting one of these in, but I have a few questions...

I just have one question, do the holes on the sender line up with the old holes?

what about the connectors? can you order them from these dudes?

How do you adjust the full/empty? There doesn't look like any screws on the sender?

The unit does not come w/ connectors or screws. It does come w/ gasket and has leads (pre stripped) and I used oem ss screws and some crimp connectors. No adjustment, other than length, size. The info and specs on the wema site say to order 1 inch shorter than your tank is deep, that way when reading empty you still got lil gas. I ordered 6.5 inch for my 94 225. I agree w/ marco isle, quality, accurate SSS unit.

This works with your standard gauge?

                          Hello,

I was looking for alternative senders for the ballast tanks on my 05 X-Star. The original senders are completely unpredictable. Sometimes they work fine and other times the reading is completely bogus. The connectors look fine and clean so I'm pretty sure the senders are the problem. Even the dealer admits that the originals are a common problem.
These replacements look great, except my senders are three wire and the replacements are only two wire. Maybe the new sender dosn't need power. Did your original sender have three wires?

Do all mastercraft tanks have the same bolt pattern for the sending unit? The SSS matches it?
                            I should say...do mastercrafts have a 2 1/8" 5 bolt pattern?
