Can I use Mobil 1 15W-50 in my Tranny?

For the past 4-5 years I've been running Mobil 1 15W-50 in my LTR and Valvoline Dextron III/Mercon in my Tranny. There's been a lot of posts about people changing from ATF to 15W-40 oil in the ZF Hurth transmissions. I've never had a problem with tranny noise but I'm still thinking I should make the switch. Would the Mobil 1 15W-50 work...or should I go with a different brand/viscosity? Makes it a little easier if they both use the same thing.

If you have a v-drive or a reduction gear, you can use the same oil you use in the engine. If you have a 1:1 transmission, you need to stay with the Dxron ATF.
