Anyone know where I can get an exhaust manifold gasket quick

I have blown out the exhaust manifold I just had put on. It must be something stupid like it wasn't tight enough or something.

I have to replace the gasket and I can't drive it the way it is and am trying to save the weekend.

Anyone know where I can get a port side exhaust manifold gasket

High temp RTV silicone. That's what the OEMs use. Follow the directions! Don't over torque. Use lock-tite on bolts. Torque to spec. Let it sit, overnite. Done.

I wouldn't use anything on the bolts. If anything, chase the threads down with a bottom tap and clean the blots with a hand held wire brush. Be sure the make sure the mounting seats and cheeks of the bolts are clean too.

Loctite is a is definite no no on exhaust bolts/studs.

Get some good gasket material and make one. Very easy just place on top of manifold surface and rub head of a hammer around the internal & external edges and it will leave an outline of where to cut it.

Not sure about sealant...I thought most recommended NOT using any sealant?

Thanks CR. I just talked to my mechanic and he said he considered doing that but now that I mentioned it that he would do it.

Does anyone know the tourque specs. I'd like to send him a message with those just to make sure.

another guy said there must be an MC dealer around. I'll stick with the guy who should have done it right the first time last week. He is pretty embarrassed. Said its never happened before. And of course it is being repaired at no charge.

When I worked as a machinist we never bought gaskets and made all of them. These were for high pressure pumps and turbines so you will be 100% OK going that route. Use a ball pien hammer (round end ) to make the bolt holes. Wish I had a dime for every gasket I made, I'd be retired now

Percy "seal 4 good" exhaust gaskets Part Number: 66012 square port exhaust 5.7L TBI motor correct? Or Part Number: 66011 for round port exhaust, reusable and never blow out, source them into the "performance" section of your local auto parts. I have them on my boat.
