  • '03 5.7 LTR Pressure Regulator

I have a 197 with a 5.7 LTR Indmar GM Vortec. Can I buy the fuel pressure regulator at the auto store...part number, store. What is the bar pressure for regulator...anybody know what year Gm motor I would be looking at...fuel injected motor.

The fuel pressure regulator is located on the right side of the motor on the fuel injector rail.

also will be replacing knock sensor due to corrosion, I see that can be replaced, look for number on part, would it be the same for pressure regulator? thanks

The Indmar P/N for that regulator is 556125. It is a vacuum actuated 3 Bar regulator ... approx. 45 PSI.

Maybe you guys can point me in the right direction here, but on my year 2000 LTR where the fuel pressure regulator should be there is something that looks like a regulator, but there is no fuel return line going anywhere. What is it doing? It doesn't seem like it could regulate fuel pressure since there is no return line to the tank.

I've spent the last couple years researching this, what your seeing is in fact the GM fuel pressure regulator. If there is no return line attached it has a plug installed in the port where the fuel line would go. (Bottom of reg.) In this case the regulator does nothing. Indmar just left it there to plug the hole in the fuel rail. I am surprised that you have a 2000 model year with a returnless system. According to indmar, early production 1999 LTR was returnless. Late 1999-2000 began utilizing the return. This continued until end of production for the LTR.
In my endless research, yours will be the first and only 2000 model year LTR that I have come across that did not have a return. That's interesting. If you would be willing to PM me your hull# and engine serial# I'd love to research that a bit.

Possible it is late 99. Hole in throttle plate. Will be at the lake this weekend and check it. That is really dad's boat so i may have incorrectly remembered the year. I run that on weekends and the Marlin during the week here at the house.

My 2000 XStar with LTR has 2 orange fuel lines coming from the fuel pump module, so I'm pretty sure that means it utilizes the return system.

Does that mean then that my fuel pressure regulator is in fact the GM one at the end of the fuel rail?

You have two, one at the tank and one on the fuel rail. Let's go back to your "engine stutters on hard acceleration" thread and keep it there. Two threads are confusing me...lol
