  • 91 tri star trany fluid change

I apologize if this question has already been asked but I could not find it. Does anyone out there know the exact amount of transmission fluid to change in the 1991 Tri-Star 351 Windsor with velvet drive ratio 1 to 1? I feel like I have check the web for the last week and not come upon a clear answer.

I always measured what I was able to get out and replaced with that amount.

Remove as much fluid as you can with a vacuum pump, then replace the same amount. Warm up the tranny, check the level with the dipstick, add additional fluid if needed.

I found that with my '92 I need to keep it completely full (according to the dipstick) or it will occasionally slip. Slippage usually occurs under hard acceleration or sharp turns to the right.
