  • Indmar MCX 5.7 serial number location (2011)

Hi all, can you give me a hint where the serial number of the Indmar MCX 5.7 engine (2011) is located? Its in a X2 2011. According to the manual there are two locations, but I did not manage to spot any of them. If there was a visible sticker, its probably gone so I would like to know the location where its printed/engraved into the block.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Mine has a plate between the motor and trans that the ecu and other stuff is mounted. The serial number is on that plate.

    From my phone.

There is a large silver colored sticker right by the ECM. There are also smaller silver colored stickers on various components like the alternator, ECM, Starter, distributor, raw water pump. The stickers all have the engine serial number on them.

thanks for both replies. the larger stickers are gone. there are still 2 of the smaller stickers on starter/alternator, but I fear that wont be accepted by my local authorities here in Switzerland. Isn't there any area where the serial is directly engraved on the block itself? thx for any advice!

My curiosity is killing me so I've gotta ask, why are the authorities interested in your engine serial number? Is it a customs/import/export issue?
As far as I know the only numbers embossed into the engine block are the GM casting and part numbers. I don't think the MC serial number is stamped into the engine anywhere, they just used stickers. On my 1999 the sticker was on the side of the oil pan. Maybe a dealer can get you a new sticker.

Mine's an '01 and not the MCX. I took a ton of random pics of my boat when I first got it. You can see the serial number in this one.

Might be for insurance. They asked me for mine when I first insured it but I told them I can't find it and they never asked again.

Jayhawk!! Million thanks- thats where I found it on mine too. Quite difficult to spot, as its very difficult to access in the back of my engine compartment. I am importing the boat to Switzerland, so they are checking papers vs hull / engine ID. All a great season!

Glad you found your serial number. That is the only place on the engine with a permanent number.
