2002 X-Star 330 hp engine replacement

My 02 X-star suffered a catastrophic failure at the end of last season. The engine is not out yet but there is a nice hole in the side of the oil pan and the dipstick is bent and twisted up pretty good.

Are these the correct replacements?

$500 difference in new and remanufactured... opinions? I lean toward new.

Are there places other than Michigan Motorz I should be shopping also?

No, so a short block may be an option. I dont see them on Michigan Motorz site.

In short, buy a new LONG BLOCK GM Vortec marine Motor, you will save time & money. Contact Indmar see what5.7 long blocks they used and go from there. You will have the best performance for the buck.

I would be interested in the harmonic balancer and trigger wheel if you end up with an extra.

Im not sure yet, we dont have it completely out but there is a whole in the oil pan. So I pretty sure i have a rod broken.
