      • My friend and I were just talking about doing that. How much time and money did you spend on this project?

        Looks great.

            Sheet of 1/4" Plexiglass = $45
Cutting Circles (Pain) = 3 Hours (2 people doing 14 cut outs - 2 boats)
            LED's = $12 to $16 for 50 on Ebay
LED Install = $25 of Pizza for my Brothers electronics students who did it during class
            Install:
            - 2 Speakers at a time.
            - Rear sides = 2 hours
            - Front seats = 2 sessions @ 2 hours each
            - Tower speakers = 3 hours

6.5" speakers (Polk DB650's) allowed for an easier install because LED wires didn't need bent 60 to 90 degrees to conform to the speaker cone.
The 5.5" speaker cone didn't provide any room and the LED install should have been more perpendicular to the ring. Most wires were bent OK but some needed to be re-glued.
Some of the LED's broke loose and needed to be re-glued. This resulted in a two session install for the front.
Cracked a few rings while drilling speaker holes when the drill head broke threw the plexi.
            All in all:
            $86 Hard Cost
10 Hours of cursing, cutting, soldering, drilling, etc. This would be higher if I had to install the LED's in the rings.

            Good Luck!
If its not a competition ski boat, its always second best.

              • I took off the exhaust flaps and turned them around to try and get the minor curve out of them. Luckily my wife didn't see me...should would have thought I lost my mind.

                  • It rained during all my free time this weekend. I need to get the stereo put in, so hopefully I can do that sometime this week. We're finally getting some temps in the 80's and 90's this week, so the lake should start to warm up!

Mine are off and sandwiched between some barbell plates right now. I'm glad I am not the only one.

                      • so far this year:
Replaced JL Audio M6450 Amp - Amp blown and rebuilt twice to continue to blow by EE PhD family member.
Tire Replaced - Single axle blow-out. Put new and spare on the road and put the remaining one that had been on the road for spare
Replaced Alternator - Completely fried, 0 Volts when tested.
Replaced Fuel Pump - After alternator was replaced, sputtering backfire sound etc. Checked with flow meter, started out at 30psi and would die off to 0 or near. Cleaned fuel filter, same results. Pump was shot.

I'm tired of working on my boat. The work isn't the problem... it's the parts. B.O.A.T.

Parts are the cheap part, be happy you aren't paying boat shop $120/hr to fix everything, plus your time towing around.

While this site is full of enablers, the knowledge dispensed is priceless.

That is what keeps me going at least...

                          Hope that helps provide perspective!

                              • Over the last couple of weeks I have dressed the engine compartment up, reinforced the small swim platform and still fixing up a great grill for more fun and frivolity over the summer.

Fired the boat up for the first time, fired like a champ and purred like a 351PC. I have been a busy boy.
