  • I changed the impeller, cut out the bad section on a cooling hose, got my analog speedo working and calibrated my Perfect Pass. My ignition was also a little crooked so I straightened that up as well. I have a little fading on the deck so I got after it with some wet sand paper and rubbing compound which did the trick. I only did a small section before I decided to tackle the whole thing. Looks much better though.

Next up is changing my speakers and head unit. The current Kenwood unit still works fine, but the speakers are shot and my cover for the head unit no longer stays closed. I would like to put an amp and some speakers on the tower as well, but bc of the low garage door I have on the boat house, I have to remove the top section of the tower every time until I rebuild the boat house with 9' doors.

I was able to help my bro in law out by doing a little wet sanding and buffing on his boat as well. His has spent most of it's poor life outside uncovered so I thought the gelcoat may be toast but it has really come back to life and now he has it covered. All in all it was a fairly productive weekend though.

            • I clay bar'd then waxed ALL the fiberglass - under - over and in. Very satisfying when done, but man, what a PAIN. One of those things that half way in you are like "why on earth did I start this???"

                      • I replaced my fuel pump and filter yesterday. While I was in there I discovered a 7/16" layer of water in the bottom of the tank!

So I wired up some extention wires to hook the old pump to the battery, connected a long run of 5/16 fuel line and pumped the tank dry. A guess is I got 2 - 3 gallons of water out. I wiped the inside of the tank as far as I could reach with a rag.

The new pump and filter will be starting as fresh as possible now.

Install was not tough. I hate wires, so the hardest part was routing everything so it was hidden. I used a flexible rod to fish all the wires from my mounting location, under the floor and then to the battery box. All in all, it took probably 3 nights and a 12-pack!

                                Thanks.

I bought a Guest 16102. It is a dual bank 12amp (6amp per bank). I then installed a flush receptacle.
