What do you volks think about that?

The deep is 4mm (0.16 inch) the filling is called here "Sikaflex"
it ends, when it´s dry, as a kind of rubber.

    b.t.w. who is "Harold" ?

It looks great. Harold is TMCNo1 who was our top poster and resident teak expert and the originator of MCOCD. Sadly he passed away a few years ago. He touched countless people here and was always trying to help anyone he could. I had the pleasure of spending 3 weekends with him at the NC reunions.

Here is his original teak lovers thread. There is a pdf of his article there.

    Prior boats - (3) X14's, (3) Prostars, and a Tristar.

I removed motor, mufflers, fuel tank, blower, bilge pump, ski pole and wiring harness today. Then I cleaned hull out. Getting ready to re-string her. Not what I was planning on when I bought it back in January but better now than July. Someone had done a patch job on two of the stringers and I'm not impressed.

        • Well I've not posted any details here but my '90 Tristar has been receiving some much needed TLC in the past couple of weeks.. Acid wash and wet sand the entire hull. (Wounded Rig in West Frankfort, IL), Replaced old one piece silencer with duals, New interior accent lights, Replaced motor box sound foam, All new (original style) graphics, overall clean up and attention to detail. Trailer still needs some attention but she is definitely looking better.... Attached is a pic with Bandit628's '00 x-star. There were a lot of changes in 10 years...

Looks great. Any pics of the wake of that tristar? I've been talking to a member here who was thinking of purchasing one and in searching the forum there isn't much discussion of the 220.

            • I have a couple here... Have never put any ballast in this boat other than people.. the wake in these 2 pics is at about 21 mph.. 3 avg size people in boat.. Biggest problem with Tristar boats is the lack of places to put ballast.. I have seen some with bags across the back and the seat taken out. Also pretty low freeboard at the rear.. Fun boat to learn to wake board on but not much to advance to... The '00 x-star wake is much more impressive...
Of course at 32+ mph the ski wake is pretty nice..

And... NO.. He did not make that landing on the inverted pic... Lol

A '79 V-drive!?!? Did it come from the factory that way? That is a sweet set up! What's it look like with the engine cover in place? Got a pic?

Odd, I would think it would evaporate rather quickly. I only have the cans to compare with.
