Fun boat to learn to wake board on but not much to advance to... The '00 x-star wake is much more impressive...
Of course at 32+ mph the ski wake is pretty nice..

And... NO.. He did not make that landing on the inverted pic... Lol
Thanks for posting. One of our newer members was on a mission to buy a budget boat and the 220 tri was one of his options. He bought a Maristar DD instead.
    Prior boats - (3) X14's, (3) Prostars, and a Tristar.

    • OK... I know the thread... I chatted with him a bit... I love my old Tristar but for what he wanted I strongly suggested that he get the Maristar... Looked like a sweet boat.. Glad to hear he got it!
Congrats if you are looking in Finka!
Thanks for all you do John!! The people on here are fantastic!

The round thing in the background is a winding cage for a customer I have to repair.
I will take another picture of the inside when I get it all put back together.

        • Ok, what am I missing on the transmission issues with synthetic fluid? Is that just for power slot or also for 1:1 trannys?

I have a 1:1 VD. All I know is that i changed the fluid close to the end of the season and it started to slip a bit. When I took it apart the cluches and discs look great but I also didn't run it much after that. Did I catch it in time? I don't know, I must have.

talked to ZF Hurth - the synthetic is too slippery.. so the recommended any tier 1 blend - like Castrol Transmax VI -

                      • I fitted some extra some extra cup holders in the dash

It was too tight for the hole cutter & drill with the windshield, so I drilled a pilot hole from the top, then used the hole cutter from underneath

                        • Alistair - Those look sweet. I might follow your route and do this. I've lost track of how many times I bumped the lanyard and killed the boat while reaching for the cup holder down low.

                          • It was tight around the ignition switch, but I'm happy with the result.

I was going to buy new cup holders, but as I always leave the front filler pad in place, I just used the ones that are normally hidden underneath that

That's a ballsy upgrade right there. I couldn't bring myself to cutting the dash.

                              • I have considered this myself. I end up with my drink sitting up there most of the time anyway. The only issue I have is that my hydrolic steering resivoir is on the right side and I don't think there is room for it.
