What Work did you do on your Mastercraft Today?

I built a new teak platform this weekend.

Teak Platform - Nice work, but why the strange profile? I haven't seen one like that before.

I like that you hang your drain plug from the steering wheel. Good way to make sure you don't forget it, and it's tethered in place so you don't lose it.



I had been just storing mine in one of the cupholders near the back seat. I'm gonna go out in the garage and attach a tether cord to the plug right now.

Funny, I've been doing that for years since, well, since I forgot to put it on and put the boat on the water.
And although I tell all my boaters friends to do it most of them don't.

Yeah, I have a mental checklist and routine that I go through But as I have the kids (who don't always hear/listen) participate in launching the boat and my oldest son is taking his friends out once in a while; it is a great little "remove before flight" flag for the less experienced. Certainly no harm in it, nothing but positive.

So your new platform is replacing the fiberglass steps? Give us a pic after it's installed. That's going to be a great upgrade.

Did you have a post a few months ago with a pic of the interior partly taken out? I think I remember being intrigued bu that boat then. Very unique, eh?

I just uploaded a bunch of pictures in my photo album in my profile

I drilled a hole in the top Tee part and then smoothed out the hole. Put your tether threw the hole and I always loop it around the wheel. You'll never launch without the plug being installed.

Man, that is a REALLY cool old boat. I had no idea that MC made a v-drive back then. I assume the wake is bigger than the DD S&S's of the same era? I'm surprised it doesn't porpoise at higher speeds with all the weight in the back like that. Is that what the trim tab is for? Was the trim tab factory parts, or aftermarket. You need to tell us all about this thing, start a new thread!
