Thanks to everyone, I'm really happy with the way the power plant looks. I just hope it runs as well as it looks. I'm hoping to fire her up in a couple of weeks. No vinyl on the dog house, I can see where you were mistaken. I put new stringers and floor in last spring. She should be ready to cruise.

                Is that teak? Looks awesome.

Ordered a 36"x54" sheet of 20 gauge clear marine vinyl & HH-66 vinyl cement. Going to patch up the rear bench and sun pad, along with several other areas where there are tears. Hoping to get another 3 seasons out of this vinyl before we replace.

Got another jug of acetone for the adhesive removal on the dog box. Struggle city.

Ordered a vinyl brush attachment for the 7424xp DA polisher to clean the vinyl and carpet.

Gathered paperwork to register the boat in TX (sales tax is going to hurt)

Going to Home Depot today after work to get sandpaper, linseed oil, and mineral spirits.

                      • I have a neighbor who brought a Moomba from Utah last year. He only had to pay registration.

"TPWD is required by law to collect tax for vessels/boats (65 feet or less in length*) and outboard motors purchased in Texas or first used in Texas on or after January 1, 2000. The tax rate is 6.25% of the sales price. Tax is assessed at the time of registration/title transfer and is due within 20 days from the date of sale or date brought to Texas. Applications filed later than 20 working days are subject to tax penalties and interest. A bill of sale or invoice is required for every transfer of ownership. Trailers are handled through your local County Tax office and the price of the trailer must be separated from the price of the boat and motor. One of the following is acceptable to meet the bill of sale or invoice requirement"

I'm not going to argue, but based on this information from the TPWD website, I'm not sure how people are getting around the 6.25% sale tax. Or maybe it means that as long as you don't title it in TX, then you don't have to pay the sales tax....

                          • reg'd it in TX, you all were correct, no sales tax if you can prove that you registered previously out of state.

                            • Hull Decal Replacement

Replaced my X30 decals this weekend. The originals kissed a dock last summer which tore them up a bit and messed with my MOCD. Did a complete wet sand, compound and wax job on the entire boat too.
