Perhaps. My 12 year old daughter was driving the boat for a tube ride for my son and his 4 friends (huge 6-person tube) and was aggressive enough to flip the tube. He may think there's downside.

Other than the cost of the rudder...no downside.

      Sorry to threadjack

Love it, i am a firm believer in getting the kids driving early. Raise them on the water they handle themselves better when older. Anyone can buy a boat, but not everyone has experience enough to drive one...

I noticed an increased effort needed to turn to port side when excelrating.

Excellent idea!!! Since the store bought ones are $150+, I'm totally borrowing this idea. What size angle iron did you use?

                • After finally giving up on my fuel gauge, I marked the fuel tank and made an LED fixture (wired to a switch) so I can see in the tank. I did the same for the rear ballast tanks too.

I'm not sure about the genius part, but my gauge sho'nuff works better, lol

                      • My son completed the separation of the stereo zones so now the tower speakers are now separate from the interior.
Why it was never wired this way from the factory I'll never know....

                        • Finished replacing the engine box insulation and made a set of mud flaps a la @kwoody51.

Also adjusted my packing nut and washed the storage dust off the mooring covers.
