Did new risers and manifolds on my 351. Skidim deal on both. The manifolds (Barr) fit a little closer to the engine but its ok. Just make sure you take advantage of the manifolds being off and replacing the valve cover gaskets. Everything else was good. Did I have to replace them? After seeing what they looked like after 27 years maybe not. I suppose I could have had them boiled in a tank but nobody has acid tanks anymore. Remember when you could take an old rusty part to Napa and they had a hub store somewhere with an acid tank for heads and all that stuff? They were actually in pretty good shape. Did an axle and disc brake conversion too. Just need good weather now. Ran a compression check and couldn't be happier.
One last thing to top it off...oil analysis when the time comes.
Blackstone
How cool is that. How do I do this! What do the numbers interpret?
Call or email Blackstone and request a sample kit. They send it no cost to you. Change your oil and send them a sample. Pay with charge card. They send back the results in a few days. I think it's about US$15.00 for the test. Then you can track your internal engine health from year to year.
Numbers for your engine will compare to their universal database numbers as a benchmark for comparison.
Little bit of sanding to the teak, and supports then repaint and protect looks like new. Then had time to replace spring in throttle/ gear lever, now it locks in neutral. Oh and I got the vacume out, girlfriend is getting jealous LOL
Did a little prototyping this weekend. In my 205V variant, I put in the wakemakers KGB bag which is bigger than the stock KGB bag. So, when the bag fills up, it pops up the door, making it difficult to move around the floor. These are 1/4" pieces of starboard. The only issue I see is the strength, but its only spanning about 8 1/2" inches. I think the final version may need to be 3/8" or 1/2" thick.Hopefully be able to try this out next weekend.
Haven’t been on here in awhile so a lot has happened, including taking her out 4 times already! Over the past few months we had some of the interior redone... long story short the guy (who was recommended by the dealer) said it’d all match and it didn’t, but don’t fear, we’re working on it. We also had him put in deckadence and that was well worth it. The stuff is awesome!
We also put seadek (Thanks SC Wake) on the platform, trailer, sun pad walkthrough, and cockpit step. Love how it turned out!
A few misc. things we did include replacing the port and stbd. ballast puppies with kings, giving the boat a pre season wax, replaced the shower quick disconnect, and adding a new style steering wheel.

Great looking boat, loved our 2006 X-30. Getting a perfect color match on older vinyl is next to impossible, but your boat looks fantastic inside and out.

Thank you! She’s come a long way over the past couple years.

First, I replaced the stock Gen2 bags with Wakemakers’ 710s:
Then I wrapped up my heater install, blows plenty warm. One outlet at the observer seat:
and one Gen2 Hot Tube right behind the driver’s seat:
I should have taken pics of where I put the heater. I installed it vertically between the observer seat and the coffin bench. From there it was a short run for the hot water hoses to the engine, and the observer seat vent. The vent hose for the hot tube runs around the bow.

Did new risers and manifolds on my 351. Skidim. Did an axle and disc brake conversion too.
I’m contemplating a disc brake kit.... my hyd surge drum brakes probably haven’t worked in decades but trailer is otherwise in good condition....did you buy/install the A-60 kit from PacificTrailers.com for $700 ish? Any tips/issues/suggestions? I’ve read all the threads and confident I can do the install...Are you happy w the result? My F150 currently stops it fine and I never tailgate or speed...so I’m trying to justify the cost/time.
Also, were the new risers and manifolds replaced just as a preventative measure? Contemplating that also on my 400hr young 26 yo boat.
