Notes: 5 plastic clips that hold hose to hull. Hardest being the clip under the aft motor mount. Old hose was hard to get off connectors at both ends. Stuck on pretty well (20 years!) Ended up using razor to cut off hose bibs, trash anyway.
Use plenty of lube to get hose on gas tank bib. I did not use enough and had to wrestle with hose to tank connector, being paranoid I would shear hose bib and have to pull tank and replace fuel feed unit. I bought 12' of 3/8" fuel hose, used about 10'. Better to have too much than too little.

While I was at it I changed fuel / water separator filter (Racor 110). Also used a short length of extra 3/8 fuel hose and replaced the section between fuel/water separator and fuel filter.

Notes: 15/16" bolt at top to release bronze colored bowl. Use towels to catch fuel that will leak. I ended up removing entire assy (as seen in pic) to replace the second gasket that comes with kit. Impossible to get old gasket out and new one in without removing assy. Since I was already replacing fuel hose, was simple. Filter looked pretty dirty at bottom, but no debris in housing. I'm guessing it had been in there a bit, but not forever.

Thanks to skidim for the parts, love the 10-15% discount that they provide, nearly covers shipping usually for me.

Looks like your having a great time caring the the lady.....I have some reassembly on risers and thermostats and I believe I am done till end of next season...

        • Ok...I decided to see if I could tighten up the play in my steering wheel and the answer was yes... the screws holding the helm tilt in place were a bit loose and the screws in the universal assembly were loose as well. <<pictured>> tightened those up and the steering feels better than when I bought it. There's a teflon bushing which I am going to hunt down and replace...it slides over the helm stem steering shaft. While I had the steering wheel off - I could not resist treating instrument panel with 303. Next project - rebuild circuit panel... the plastizers have all but evaporated and the plastic just disintegrates. Can't complain the boat is a 1995... so the plastic needs changing..

Mastercraft posted their 2012 197 video on their Facebook page... oooh...such a sweet new ride....

                • mgorczak1,

We worked on the same parts today..
the last 2 summers I've noticed some play in my steering took the assembly off today and found a bushing that can be replaced.you can see the bushing in the third pic.
mgorczak1..is your bushing like the one in the pic?

Also replaced the rubber pad under the port side rear tower leg. What a P.I.T.A !!! I had to remove the back rest on the port side then drill a 2 inch hole in the inner fiberglass where the backrest bolts on to access the tower nut..I was nervous drilling the hole but,it all worked out.

                      • Installed the winged rudder from a 1997 Prostar onto my 1995. Hope that it will provide some lift in the stern.

Yes, that is a big glob of grease oozing out of the back of the rudder port. Wanted to be sure there was enough grease. P is for plenty.

4 Blade prop would help some as well.

                            • There's a lot that can be done to the wheel to make the bow flatten out. It's not just going from a 3 fluke to a 4 fluke wheel. There's a VOO DOO to wheel work.

Have a read on my buddy's thread in another forum I visit and you will see what I mean.

                              • Skipper, let us know how that works! I have had the same thought but didn't want to spend the $$ on the experiment. Will you have to wait for warm weather to ski it?
