I am in need of a bimini top for my 2007 P/S214. Anyone have an opinion regarding purchasing an off-brand product for a self-install versus purchasing the MasterCraft Bimini with dealer install? Cost difference is about $400 versus $1,000 respectively.

you could go to a canvas shop and have one made to the OEM spec....Quote:

Had really good experience on a friends boat with a bimini purchased from Overtons. Measure and then order your size. Easy install, looks great and still looks brand new after three years of use.sigpic

I purchased one of the cheesy ones (dont remember the company) for my '94 205 for maybe $300. It worked perfectly. I guess it depends on your tolerance of functionality versus aesthetics.Life is fragile; Pray hard (click for prayer requests)

Overtons. Sunbrella. Measure and install yourself. You will have to sew in a zipper for the extended pylon or have a canvas shop do it. Shouldn't cost but a few dollars more.sigpic
