Do I rig the 175 on it, or do I mount the 250 on as high up set of holes I can. From my calcs this would only put the prop about 2" lower then the 175.....Thoughts? I have a 1978 Baja 16SS I could put the 175 on.....
No such thing as too much power in a barefoot boat.. I'd go with the 250 and get a hydraulic jacking plate so you can adjust on the fly..

Thanks Ironhorse. I am now getting started on the top side. Going to sand it out from 400 grit up to 2000 and then go back and to my repairs in local areas. I will need to remove the windshield so I can get access to the dash area properly.
Been keeping an eye open for a walking foot sewing machine. Hoping to get vinyl and do the interior over the winter. If I can get it in the water before fall ill use what I have for now.

Should have taken some photos when it was cleaner and outside the shed in the sun. But I think you get the idea. You can see the shine near where the trailer tires are. Like I said, I'm happy with it. Now to dive into the topside.

Well...got the bottom as good as I am going to get it. Looks decent. I am fairly happy with it.
Managed to get it flipped back over today and back on the trailer. Now the work on the topside begins. The spectrum color I ended up getting was a shade lighter then the boat. That surprised me as I was expecting it to be the other way around. Since I sprayed the entire bottom and used the edge where the bottom meets the sides as the edge to stop at it wasn't a big deal as the eye can't pick up the color change there. However top side is different story. I don't plan on respraying the whole top. I plan on just repairing the Nicks and chips locally, complete sanding with 400 grit all.they way up to a Polish and wax and call it good.. So now I will need to try and add some color to my gel to try and get the shade a bit darker. I wonder if I contacted Spectrum if they would provide any pointers on what color pigments to add to try and darken it up a bit.
Will also need some grey/cream color for repairs. I have some Whaler "sand" color which I think will be very close. I may check it and perhaps I can tint it to match .
I'll try and post a picture of it back on the trailer.

Great update. I'm sure once you get it flipped back over things will start going quicker. Good luck!

A G2.....I'm jealouse.....I have the 175 Ficht for mine. Runs good...but a 200 or 225 HO G2 would be my dream. I unfortunately am doing this on a shoestring budget....

Picture during wet sanding. I have a few small ripples that I may sand the gel off in a few places, fair it out, and touchup with gel.

Wow...been a while since I updated this. Yes, I still have the boat lol. I did get spectrums gel coat and last fall managed to get some time and finish off the repairs. I ended up getting a cup gun and spraying it. Seems to have turned out decent. I'm in the process of sanding the hull now to get it to a point I can use rubbing compound and polish.
I'll try and get some pictures up in the next week or so of the bottom all finished. I'm excited because once that's done I get to turn the boat over and start on the top side. Way less gelcoat issues there.

Awesome thread! Any updates? I have a 91 bf200 and love the boat, very excited to see the work you are doing. Also if you ever find any pets boats I could use a rope deflector from 92-96 as my 91 won’t work with a G2.
