1989 Prostar Restoration

Hello all,

I'm working on restoring my '89 Prostar and I need some help with the gel coat color ID. I contacted MC and was told they could not ID which of the grey was used in my model year due to lack of records, but they gave me all 3 grey numbers used in '89. Which grey is this??

Light Grey: Spectrum Part# 3971
Medium Grey: Spectrum Part# 3903
Dark Grey: Spectrum Part# 3914

Probably won't be on your boat, but on my 88, behind one of the trim panels for the rear seat, there was a color code/name written on the hull. Remove the rear seat, remove the two carpeted panels that are screwed to the gunnels; I want to say it was on the driver side gunnel behind the panel.
Alternately, if you have a good auto paint store, they might be able to mix up a tiny sample of each of those colors, or maybe they'll have color swatches.
Or try this- call Spectrum, see if you can email a photo to someone. Spectrum lists those three colors on their website LINK, maybe one of their pros can match it for you.

gweaver just wanted to say thanks - you were correct it was on the driver side, but behind the carpet. Didn't finally find it until today while I was tearing out the carpet.

Just found my paint code sticker and its same as yours. Platinum/ Black. But now im confused becauseastercraft does not list a color named Platinum. It does list light grey though. What color did you figure out was correct?!
