  • I recently upgraded the rudder on our 2000 205V. I was able to find an OJ 162 (MC 200162) in Australia. With the exchange rate, even considering shipping, it was cheaper than purchasing in US
And, it fit perfectly in the existing rudder port (Big Plus)

Rudder USA style suit Supra, Mastercraft and other US or Australian boats that require an 1 1/8 Shaft rudder Buy online at Cassell Marine—The Boating Specialists since 1971 Ski Boat Parts, Wake Boat Parts, Race Boat Parts and General Marine Hardware Australia Wide shipping Afterpay available

      • I did the rudder upgrade on my 03 X2, it made a great improvement to the handling. Went from steering that felt like it had a bad steering cable (which I changed prior to upgrading the rudder) to near ProStar feel. Owned that boat for a year before the wife demanded another boat because of all the work I was doing to it to un-f the mess made by the PO and just plain bad build quality from that dark period of MC builds.

In addition to the rudder that boat had the rare left rotation setup, Medallion gauges that never worked right, Reliable actuator, the Reliable calipers that would freeze and the bad vinyl for the interior that thankfully I didn't have to deal with. Beautiful boat on the trailer, was just about sorted out when I sold it a year after purchase.

          • 20 year old steering cable replaced last week. New shaft seal and minute alignment today (slight adjust to port). Fixed a rear ballast intake hose leak and a bow ballast fitting leak. Knock on wood, thinking she's road ready! Rudder still on my mind, along with custom "shower" setup. This fall maybe. 378 hours. Cheers all and thanks for looking.

I dont know of any way to confirm that it is a 200162 and not a 200178a. I suppose you could ask him to measure the shaft length, and compare that to your boat's rudder shaft length.

Attached their file with dims in case it helps you or anybody else who may be looking to do something similar on the same trailer fenders. Everything after the "34415-" designates colors, texture and edge style. It was a little wonky working with them as they (at least at the time) only communicated via email, so there was a fair amount of back and forth early on, but they beat their 12 week estimated lead time by roughly half. If I had to do it again and it was easy for them to adjust without a new template, I'd probably have them add a ~1/16in all the way around, just to make cleaning up the old glue easier. Old pads ripped right up and these are a breeze to install. I think they look great.

Boat goes back to Hoglund's on the 8th for subwoofer, head unit and tower speaker install. Can't wait!
Hey brucemac, how are these sea deck trailer pads holding up to sunlight and extreme heat? My OEM trailer step pads are peeling up and it gets much worse when we leave the trailer in the hot sun for an entire day, and the adhesive starts to get soft and runny. Have you had any issues with the adhesive on your sea deck? Also, are the sea deck pads like giant stickers with adhesive pre-applied or do you have to use your own adhesive?

They've held up great. Second season with them, but I'm in the PNW, so not necessarily extreme heat. We visit eastern WA a couple times a year where we see 100* days and no issues. The pads come with adhesive already applied. You score the back sticker backing, pull from the middle out and then set in place. I practiced on a Yeti cooler Seadek topper (same stuff). Prep is important. I used acetone and goof off to clean up the old glue, then denatured alcohol and went for it. Easy job and they look great. Only con was the price. The adhesive is legit. It's not coming off anytime soon and you certainly only get one chance at sticking them on. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info! How much was it for the set, if you don't mind me asking? I tried emailing them your drawing PDF for a quote and they said I would have to start a custom project inquiry and be assigned a sales person before they could quote.

                      • You do NOT need a custom project. They should be able to pull that template up EASILY. Communication was kind of lame. Ask for someone else. Couldn't call anybody--ever. Couple days back and forth each time, but it was fall and boat was in garage, so my patience was there. I think OEM's and dealers get a live body. You need to insist that you don't need a new template, your boat, year, model make trailer matches the template in question (assuming it does). They may need to "assign" someone and that's fine, but what you're really nailing down is color and texture. In this template's case, you only have a couple of choices. My trailer's black, so I went black on black. I've seen Gray on Black, etc. Just be patient. You don't have to spend any money until you're 100% sure you're going to get what you want. FWIW, they did mess up and try to bill me for the template early on. I caught it pretty quick, emailed them back and said, "I'm not paying for that" and they took it off, sent me a new "invoice." Whole process took about 7-8 weeks. They estimated 12.
