  • Impeller removal closed cooling and 7.4 L Ilmor

Anyone have any tips on the best way to do this? Any secrets? Or does it just suck as much as it looks?

It just sucks as bad as it looks. Some folks use a lubricant and then bump the engine to get it out of there, others remove the pump and change the impeller on a workbench. Many try in exactly that sequence...lol. Good luck!!

Where exactly is the impeller on the 7.4 Ilmore engine? Mine needs to be changed and I was having trouble locating it.

Not sure for 7.4L but 6.2l is drivers side lower.

Impeller is on the aft starboard side of motor. Pulling out the ballast divider gets me pretty good access on my ‘18 X46. Good luck!
