2021 NXT20 6.0 winterization

Can someone point me to where I can find a detailed description on how to winterize the latest generation of the NXT20 6.0? I found a Youtube video for the last gen but the newer NXT20's are different. The owner's manual says to take it to a dealer to be winterized, but I refuse to pay 560.00 and drive 4 hours round trip twice to have it done. Also, is there anywhere else to buy Ilmor engine and tranny filters besides MCpartsdepot? I'm not interested in anything other than Ilmor filters. I changed my oil midseason, but that was after running the boat all day on the river and draining the oil when I got home.

Ilmore manual will have detailed directions. Also buy the filters from there or the dealer which is what I do.

Thanks for the reply, but as I said in my previous post the engine owner's manual says take it to a dealer.
I guess I'll have to figure it out on my own.

This is directly from the owner's manual:

Proper storage and/or winterization preparations are just as important
as how a powertrain is maintained in use. Since special preparations
are necessary, the boat owner should have the work done by an
authorized Ilmor service center. Damage that occurs from improper
storage and/or winterization is not covered under warranty and must
be avoided. For longer than 6month storage, the fuel will need to be
replaced every 6 months. Follow scheduled maintenance chart as well.

322 views and only 1 reply? I thought the idea of a forum was to share knowledge and help other members? If I would have posted this question on the forum for the previous boat I owned I would have had a ton of replies with what to do, a list of parts and tools needed, and a link to a how to video. From some of the answers to questions that I posted before, it seems like not many people on this forum are do it yourself type and would rather pay a dealer to do something.

Most of us don't own a new generation NXT20 to provide specifics. I believe those are closed cooling circuits now. Change the engine oil and transmission oil. Drain the heat exchanger. Drain your ballast and add antifreeze. Put stabil in the fuel. Wax the boat. Tape the exhaust flaps shut/seal up the boat. Remove the batteries. Cover and store. I've never owned a closed cooling circuit boat, so I can't comment specifics on it. Some people pull the impeller and coat it in vaseline. Others buy a new one and install every spring. I usually let mine sit in the boat and replace it every 2-3 years.



I'd argue with new boats going for 100K+, most people that shell out the money to buy them are paying the dealer to winterize. Plus, every year, people ask the same question - how do I winterize my boat? There are plenty of threads with answers already provided. Did you try google searching teamtalk winterization?

All I meant was that the guys on the other forum were more DIY than on here. That's fine, I'll figure it out and when I do I'll be more than happy to help other members.
