  • DIY: Fulton F2 Retrofit

This retro fit is for the newer style Fulton mount. The mount I am speaking of uses a single center bolt and looks like the picture below.

Step one: Order a F2 Jack with included the Weld-On Mount. Here is the cheapest I have found:
    Single Wheel: http://www.etrailer.com/p-F141305033...-1600-lbs.html
    Dual Wheel: http://www.etrailer.com/p-F141306033...-1600-lbs.html

Step two: Take the weld-on mount (it will look like the one pictured below) and get ready to mark your holes to drill.

Step three: Transfer measurements from the old style Fulton Mount to the F2 plate. My local trailer store gave me an extra mount to mark the holes on my new F2 plate. I transferred the measurements for your use.

Step four: Drill your holes and countersink.

Step five: Re-paint the mount to prevent corrosion.

Step six: Mount the plate to the old Fulton mount with four 1-1/4" x 3/8" bolts with nylon lock nuts.

Step seven: Mount the jack onto the newly installed plate with the supplied hardware or replace with stainless (like I did).

      Sodar,

This just saved me (and several others) a lot of time. Thank you for the detail in your posts!

looks awesome. thanks for the detailed post. did you have to use a drill press for the weld on plate? how did you countersink them?

another dumb question. are those measurements on the extra freebie adapter center to center?

how did you countersink them? I used a counter sink bit that I had laying around. It ended up dulling after 2 holes, so I resorted to a huge drill bit (3/4" I think).

another dumb question. are those measurements on the extra freebie adapter center to center? Yes, center to center.

The F2 really is night and day. It is so smooth and the wheel actually rotates when you want it to!

i agree. i put the dual wheel on my 2000 trailer and up to this point is far better than orginal product. Hope i can say the same thing after a spring/summer of use.

Sodar - that looks awesome. I like it. I have a question for you, maybe you can help? What would someone like myself do if I don't have any type of jack mounting system on my trailer? My current jack is attached like all the others from 86'. Any thoughts? I need a new jack bad and I'm dying to put on a fulton.

No. MC changed over the the F2 this year. Previous trailers used the same mount pictured above.

Ok here it is. Don't mind the rust I'll be taking care of that as well. I was thinking that I could some how incorporate the plate that is currently used? I also included a shot of the new wheels for [email protected]#$t's and giggles.

Covi the single wheel F2 will fit your trailer perfectly if you just use the U bolts in the box. The F2 winch fit also if you drill two holes. Click image for larger version

If you plan on repainting the trailer, weld on the mounting plate for the F2 or you can use the U-bolts like Dryland.
