  • Fenders loose?

I noticed my fenders move quite a bit when towing. I looked underneath and there's a good 1mm of space between the nylon nut and the fender. Is it normal to have some space or has the nylon nut just worked it's way loose over the years?

I noticed one side on my trailer is loose too. They should be tight to my knowledge. I also noticed i have a couple of welds on fender bracket that have broken free which I suspect helped loosen the nuts. I'm planning to pull my fender pads and fenders off, fix the welds and then add new bolts.

Thanks. I'll pick up some marine adhesive so I can peel back the skid pads and tighten things up.

make em tight - but be careful not to stress the fiber glass to prevent cracks

Were there originally rubber washers in place and they deteriorated and are now gone?

Rubber washers....didn't think of that possibility. That would make perfect sense and help protect the fiberglass from cracking. I'll add that to my shopping list.

            Thanks!
