  • Upholstery needed in SF bay area

Im looking for a good upholstery shop near the SF and have had trouble finding a decent one. I have a 1984 Stars and Stripes with completely shot/worn interior so everything needs to be redone. Ill post some pictures once I head back home this weekend.

Ive seen several people recommend Viper Customs on the forums, but that is quite the distance away

I'll be in the same "boat" in a few years myself. Love vipers work and their design suggestions. Anyone with pics from fowlers?

Where in the Bay Area? I'm up in the North Bay and had my upholstery done in a mom and pop shop in Santa Rosa. Not the greatest pictures, but you get the idea.

Price was $2500 for all the vinyl surfaces- motor box, driver, observer, rear seat, arm rest.

gweaver, I am in near the east bay-Lafayette area. Im just looking for a simple reupholstery job, probably one or two colours, just to make the interior look clean and moderately updated.

As you can see, the carpet is falling apart, the seats have been more then sunbathed, and the seams are fraying/tearing everywhere. Most of the wood underneath the seats has started to deteriorate as well. The pictures make it look nicer than it actually is.

I talked to Dino at fowlers the other day. He quoted me 6500 for carpet and interior on a 94 prostar 190. His work is beautiful but deft not cheap

I've been talking to a guy on craigslist in Merced. He sent me some pretty nice photos of his work, but he works out of his house. Said he used to work at Malibu. Quoted me $1750 for a full redo on my Prostar 205. Going to have him do a bench seat on my pontoon first and see how he does.

Let me know how that goes... That is cheap!

                          '84 or '83

Not that it matters, but I think your boat is an '83. Are the stripes metalflake?

Definitely let us all know and share some pics. Crazy that folks can't find a viper like quality upholstry guy out on the west coast! Also find out if he is using correct thread and staples as well as can to the custom embroidery to match the factory.

Please do let us know how that goes! I would be very interested if his does quality work.

Well it would be quite embarrassing if I have been calling my boat an 84 if its an 83 because all the stripes are indeed metalflake. Ill check my title when I get home.
