We'll apparently be setting a new record February low on Monday night here in Austin. Previously 20 degrees in 1909, it's sounding like we'll be hitting 14 or lower. The lowest ever recorded temp in Austin apparently was -2 in 1949, but hopefully we don't touch that.

Good news - next Tuesday they are predicting a high of 14. I don't remember how long it's been since we got that warm.

There were some scary crashes there yesterday. Video is one of my worst nightmares. Stopped in traffic and you see an 18 wheeler barreling down your neck in the rearview.

Yeah, I'm planning on hunkering down for the weekend. No reason to get out as it's too cold to do anything!

stay warm and safe everyone! Got all the outside faucet covers on, peach tree wrapped with lights for heat, checked antifreeze in all vehicles, tractors, RTV and heating pads for the outside animals. We have already lost a bunch of live oak limbs and I suspect there will be many more before this is over with.
