Don't get me wrong, not saying the officials changed the outcome of the game, just saying it would have been a much different game if #30 on Bama was ejected, Jalen didn't score, etc etc

I have the photos from the back side of that play and watched the video several times. That frame is from the play it just looked wrong because of the wall in the background was not what you would normally see from a shot going back (North End Zone has a taller wall with a fence on it, South has that short wall). It also looks like that was a very fleeting part of the play. I don't think he had the angle on that one but I know how frustrating it is. I watched that match up all day as those two will probably both be top 5 in the draft.
If stupid Photobucket wasn't down I have some other images that show just how bad the officials are. We actually joke about putting up galleries of missed calls - might lose our credentials though.
On a side note, I stood next to Miles and Hall as they warmed up taking a few shots for my son (MG his favorite player). Unreal how quick they are for their size. Those two are going to make lots of money. They were also very nice after the game.

My understanding is that targeting can be helmet to helmet of a defenseless player or crown of the helmet to helmet of any player.

"No player shall target and make forcible contact against an opponent with the crown (top) of his helmet. This foul requires that there be at least one indicator of targeting (See Note 1 below). When in question, it is a foul."
This specifies a hit with the top of the helmet, but not necessarily a hit to the opponent’s helmet.
Note 1: "Targeting" means that a player takes aim at an opponent for purposes of attacking with forcible contact that goes beyond making a legal tackle or a legal block or playing the ball. Some indicators of targeting include but are not limited to:
Launch—a player leaving his feet to attack an opponent by an upward and forward thrust of the body to make forcible contact in the head or neck area
A crouch followed by an upward and forward thrust to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area, even though one or both feet are still on the ground
Leading with helmet, shoulder, forearm, fist, hand or elbow to attack with forcible contact at the head or neck area
Lowering the head before attacking by initiating forcible contact with the crown of the helmet.
Enough Said. There is no mention of ball carrier or not. It was targeting, and they didn't call it. It's possible to beat the #1 ranked team, but you can't beat the refs.

Tech fans spitting at/on as well as throwing chewing tobacco cans at Baker Mayfield was pretty trashy. But I've never heard good things about those fans

Keep worrying about the officiating. The reality is this: after moving the ball 75 yards on seven plays to take a 14-13 lead, A&M ran 30 plays in the final 28 minutes for a total of 52 yards and zero points. That's 1.7 yards per play. Combine that with a turnover that generated points, and there's a very small chance to win. Even smaller when playing the #1 team with the #1 defense on the road. There's no such thing as a perfectly officiated game. But even if this game was perfectly officiated...A&M doesn't win.
