I wonder the same thing. Did Urban cover anything up? Gene Smith, university police and city police were all in the loop, right? Was there actual domestic abuse? I think this is all about a crappy marriage between two $hitty people.
Full disclosure, I have not kept up on the details of this story.

This is what really TICKS ME OFF!!!
Meyer stood in front of a room full of reporters and television cameras Wednesday night, taking center stage in what was the biggest story in sports, and apologized more to "Buckeye Nation" than he did to Courtney Smith.
It's not just what Meyer said or the adolescent, bumbling way in which he delivered it. It's what he didn't say -- starting with her name.

Just like Penn State and it's staff, Ohio too was more worried about the program and their staff then the victim(s).
Everything else is just a wash. Even if it was just a ****ty marriage and they are both 50/50 in the abuse it doesn't change how urban and the staff handled it.
3 games isn't enough to make people stop and think before they act.-Tim
Making boomers great again!!Boomin'

What if this situation happened outside of the university with no compliance office? You report it to the police right? The police were involved. What else needs to happen in that case? Who else needs to be told?
The only thing that could potentially point to a cover up is if he deleted texts messaged. I'll admit that doesn't look good even asking the question.
After basically 12 hours of deliberating, he decided to have reporters repeat the questions and seemed just drained. Furthermore, they were in this situation because of the way he botched media days. I believe he answered the question on media days with respect to Zach Smith getting charged with a felony which he didn't. The term that the reporter used was "incident" which could mean anything.

Could compliance have done anything additionally other than way the police were already looking into?

You sure painted this nicely. The guy LIED about it, plain and simple.
Just come out and say whew, I sure am glad this scumbag is still our coach. If he was a man he would apologize to her directly but he's a scumbag so he wont. Did I mention he's a ****ing scumbag?

Let's say he lied at media days. Did that cover up anything? Please present facts how it covered up domestic violence to the point the authorities didn't know about it.

If you think any college coach does not have some sort of sleeze on them, then you are living under a rock.
