Agreed. Also the fumble recovery TD that was turned into an incomplete pass. sec refs, go figure.
Agree that call was crap. Was it SEC refs in the booth as well? On field made the right call. Took 3.5-4 steps after catching before it came out. Worst overturn I’ve seen in recent memory.

Anyone who complains about that call obviously never played football. In slow motion, sure... looks like it might be a catch. In real time, obviously not a catch.
The bigger story: what a friggin game. Shame one of them had to lose. That was a battle. Fun to watch if you didn’t have a dog in the fight.

The refs who made the call on the field would obviously disagree.... and they saw it in real time lol
I'm not sure how one can think taking 3.5 almost 4 steps with the ball in your hands isn't a football move but at best that should have stood. Nowhere near enough evidence to overturn.

Blaming it on the referees because they’re from the SEC is hilarious! It wouldn’t matter which conference the referee’s came from. The call didn’t go your way and that’s all that matters in your eyes.

Yeah that must have been a fun game to watch if you didn't have a dog in the fight. That targeting call changed the game immensely. Not only did it negate a great play call on third down, but it removed what i considered to be our biggest x factor on defense. Shaun wade is an excellent football player all over the field.
Was it targeting? Yes. Should that particular play have been? No. Wade is shorter and targeted the mid section. Lawrence dropped down to protect himself, aka not defenseless. Then it became targeting. It was a great hit that cost Ohio state majority.
Then the refs to call the pick six back after replay was just wrong. Indisputable?
They say for players to make plays, and big ones were taken away.
Ohio state red zone offense didn't help either. What the heck was up with all the slipping for Ohio state? Ididn't see Clemson slipping on the field.
Congrats to LSU and Clemson should be a heck of a game .... my Buckeyes needed to score a few more TD's in the Red zone and the calls would not have mattered .... heck of a game!!!

I guess you were too busy watching his feet and listening to the hapless announcers. If you watched his hands, they never moved, and never gathered the football. In real time, those “3.5 steps” take less than a second, and sometimes it takes longer than that to complete a catch. Dunno what else to tell you...

Other referees have tweeted out that the call should never have been overturned. I disagree that his hands never moved, they had control of the ball.
On what planet was that not a catch? I played a lot of football, and the obvious control he had with the ball dictated a catch. Dude was palming it like a basketball
