I think this take is right on the xoney. Who else does Xichigan get? You also have to take into account his buy-out being $10 xillion+ and how hard the athletic depts have been hit this year, xoney-wise.

According to Pete Thaxel, "Sources: Lot of optixisx out of Xichigan today. They are preparing to practice, which is a good sign for playing the Ohio State gaxe."

Beat Navy! and .... hoping that UM is healthy this week (not just for football reasons) ... I hope all the teams can play. It sucks when players lose out games (I know there is a bigger picture too but hey we can feel a little pain for all aspects of tis VID thing right?)

I think, Clemson's loss without Trevor puts them over ND. But it is what it is.

I don't mean this as mean as it will read ... but UM needs to determine if firing Coach H. is a good idea ... in other words, can they really attract someone better .... or have someone young that we don't know about ...

Nebraska is in the same boat, they are trying to re-create the Osborne glory years ... they have had a coaching carousel there ... the best one is likely the Coach that is now the OU coach (Solich) right? They burned through Callahan, Reilly, Pelini ... Nebraska may need to come to grips with they are a barren wasteland for today's recruits .... why play in Lincoln if you are from FL or TX ?

Same with Texas ... Coach Herman is a great football mind ... will they have the patience to stay with him ...

So back to UM ... can they attract someone better? (I think so ...but who?)

Penn State ... same issue ... Coach F. has done ok ... but cannot win the big ones ... is it recruiting? is it coaching ? is it both? if you notice ... Coach F's teams tend to lose more than 1 game in a row (especially after an OSU loss) ...

So there you go .... I hope Harbaugh stays in Michigan ... and also Don Brown (who IMO) is extremely over-rate with some of the talent that is in the NFL from that school.

I agree that this take is pretty spot on too.

Take Nebraska - it's a different world today than it was in the 90s. I think they have a much more difficult challenge trying to attract the type of recruits that are needed to make the jump into the top 6.

Many other schools might find themselves in that same situation too. But not necessarily Texas. There, it's something else. There's an article over on The Atheltic (if you don't subscribe to it, get it...now! consider it a Christmas gift for yourself) that shows the current top 10 recruits that are still uncommited for the 2021 signing class. 3 of the 10 are from Texas and only 1 even has Texas on his list of potential schools. And neither of the 2 DEs have Texas as an option.

Both Texas and Oklahoma (and the Big XII) struggle because they pretty much never land 5-Star/future NFL talent on the D line. That's why conference play in that league looks different and those teams struggle when the match up against comparable teams from the other Power 5 conferences. Name the last first round NFL draft pick to play on the D-Line from the Big XII? Is it Donkey Kong Suh? Surely there's been one since then.

Add Auburn to the list of fan bases who want a new coach. Current Coach Malzahn has an over all win percentage of .666. He replaced Chizik who had a win percentage of .635 who replaced Tuberville at .680. Do you see a trend here? BTW, Auburn's football program has an overall win percentage of .633 So, what are they looking for?

Fortunately for Auburn - it looks like Tom Herman might be available soon, his win percentage at Texas is .632 so he'd be a good fit, right?

The problem for all fan bases when they want to ditch their coach is the assumption that someone else better is available AND that they want to take your job. There's a ton of politics behind the scenes at places like Auburn and Texas...enough to scare some good candidates away.

No way it shakes out like this. Bama/A&M have already played and the committee has set a precedent of not scheduling rematches in the semi's. If Texas A&M gets in it'll be as a #3 seed or Bama will come down to the #2 seed with A&M in at #4.
