Go Buckeyes! (Georgia needs to play someone, which they will, before I am afraid of them) - a healthy Bama smokes Georgia ... and even though I am a fan, I can't see Tenn continuing this hot streak ... I think the rigor of an SEC schedule will catch up to them.

Haha, I'm alive. I've watched 1 college football game since the end of the 2020-21 college season and that was the buckeyes bowl game this past New Years day. My Dad came over and wanted to watch it, so I kinda had to watch it. At present, I don't miss it. Pretty pissed at osu, haven't watched a game, other than Stroud I couldn't name one other player, and don't really care. If I had to root for someone it would be Iowa.

I saw this opinion today from a friend of mine. I don't follow it closely enough to debunk it. Opinions?

"They are trying so, so hard to get Alabama back up into the top 4, lol. Last week, they moved up LSU, a 2 loss team, from not ranked to 17th place... then moved them up another 3 places today and they haven't played! Why? They play Alabama next... and Alabama needs to play ranked teams to have a shot. Then, this week, they move Ole Miss up to 11th place after their dominating win by 4pts over an unranked team... why? Alabama has then the next game! Mark my words... they will get Alabama into the 5th spot so they can move them up into the top 4 after the Ohio State -Michigan game! They do this all the time... moving up Alabama opponents in the rankings 1-2 weeks before Alabama plays them... I've been watching them do it for years!"

the other games and teams are not cooperating enough to make that true … win your games take care of business and keep those conference championships in mind …

the SEC is not looking as strong as usual and the other side of the Big 10 is soooo weak right now that there is a scenario or 2 that the loser of the OSU MU game may still get votes to be top 4 …. Clemson losing to ND would also open doors for anyone 5-10 in the polls … way too early to tell ….

the committee does align things towards the end but it is not to slide someone past another .. Bama has always deserved their spot every time they were in,

Even when Bama is down they are still under your skin!! Warms my heart!

If Bama didn't have a winning season for the next ten years they'd still be under everyone's skin!

There are 62 AP pollsters (sportswriters) who are under the gun to get their various articles and votes in directly after the games on Saturday, so there's not really a "they" trying to do anything. It's an aggregate poll and if enough of the writers who mostly just watch the teams in the sphere of the beat they write for think a team has a certain reputation that team will likely get the benefit of the doubt.

Now, the CFP rankings are a different story as they are a consensus poll, but they haven't released those yet.

That said, Bama has a last-second away loss to a good looking (and undefeated) Tennessee. I personally have them as the top 1-loss, but they're not going to the playoff if 4 of the unbeatens handle their business and win their conference.

The previewed CFP poll debunks that doesn't it ? I mean a 1 loss Bama is pretty far down the line and would need a ton of help (and winning out) to make the CFP ... like I said earlier in thew thread, Teams above Bama need to win out ... and if the SEC keeps up this weird year, you could end up with a 1 loss Big 10 team in the CFP that doesn't even play in the playoff.

Bama has a narrow loss to the current Media darling programs in fashion right now ... having them near the top 6 or 7 doesn't seem out of line to me .... USC on the other hand ....
