What can we do about gasoline prices?

Interesting read: "Federal and state taxes average 48.1 cents per gallon."
If you don't fall, you're not trying hard enough.

I'll join in for the foreigners.. England
Petrol is currently £1.299/ litre - this is regular unleaded
              3.8 litres / US gallon = £4.936 = $8.18/Gallon
We tend to put in 40 litres a time, which will keep us amused for around 3 hours.

biggest problem is that the boat is a ***** to start when warm, so we keep her running all the time, although this has made our rider change overs pretty slick!

If it's fuel injected and hard to start when warm, open the throttle a bit and see if it makes a difference. If it does, check the coolant temperature sensor. If this is the cause, you're wasting a lot of fuel because this sensor is telling the ECM that the temperature is low and that means it delivers more fuel, resulting in worse performance and wasted money.

With my fuel saver card from the regional grocery chain and Casey's, I paid $1.19 a gallon Monday to fill up with 89 octane here in Iowa (regularly 2.98)

Keep racking up the points on the card, you can pay 1 cent per gallon for up to twenty gallons. The Cents off per gallon restart after you use the 20 gallons.

$1.19? Really? How is that possible?

It's not all of the US who can't bring themselves to use the Metric System. It could have been mandated, but to many people are stubborn and like to kill what they don't understand.

They think money is Metric, too. Oh, wait, it is- just the names aren't.

Q- How much does it cost?
                        A- "4.7 deca-dollars".

                        At least it's not hexadecimal.

                        Q- How much?
                        A- "2F"

                        Can I get change for a Centa-dollar?

When you buy specific things at the grocery store, it equates to a certain amount off a gallon of gas. For instance a dozen bakery cookies is usually 5-10 cents off per gallon. You can manage to get all the way down so you only pay 1 penny per gallon. You have 30 days to use the fuel saver on 20 gallons of gas. They created an app so you can see how much you have accumulated and what is on sale to qualify.

It's nice they do it, but you sometimes find yourself buying crap you don't really need just to get extra off gas.

Wow, I'll stop complaining about our measly $5 per US gallon.
