406 I'm jealous of all your tags in Montana. I would love to see some pics. I understand if you don't want to post them on the internet. Loose lips, sink ships!
Oh I'm not afraid of sharing grip & grins. By no means am I a trophy hunter but I do love pictures for the memories. Hopefully we will end up with a few more in the coming months...
My son and I are considering doing a DIY OTC elk hunt this fall in CO. We went 2 years ago but only saw cow elk within range and never could get close enough for any of the bulls we glassed on the next canyon over. Starting to elevate my step count and stairs about a month ago ...
406 those are awesome. Really cool your wife hunting with you. Congrats. The only thing my wife will hunt is squirrels with a dog. My daughter on the other hand will hunt anything with anything.
Headed out this weekend to fill up the feeders and see what we've got so far this year... will post a few pics up later. Bow season here in Texas is a little over a month away, goodness.

Yeah, that was one of by qualifications for finding a wife. Has to hunt and has to know how to drive a boat. The big cheesy grin was her first deer and since then I get in trouble if so try to go hunting without her. Just picked up a pack frame for her this season, so when she gets her cow and realizes I can't drag the whole thing back to the rig myself she might start to think a little diffrrently. 🤣

We are pretty fortunate to have a lot of over the counter opportunities to hunt in MT. The biggest sacrifice is that hunting take priority over the boat, so it gets winterized pretty early...
Knock on wood, but I haven't had a feeder knocked over by hogs yet, but I also hammer the legs in the ground.
I have a hog trap coming very soon so I should have them under control.
Yeah, I guess we put the hog panels around the feeders to keep them from eating all the corn, then we put em' around it b/c of the cows as well. They'll destroy those feeds in a hurry...
cameras are going out this weekend duck hunting is going to be cut a little short as we are heading to Orlando first weekend in October for the USA Waterski elite weekend of skiing
Live north of Frisco in Celina, we boat on Texoma and hunt in Montague County - out by Nocona.
What about you?
Live in Georgetown (north of Austin), boat mostly Lake Georgetown, LBJ, Belton and occasionally Travis ... hunt Freestone, Crockett, Armstrong/Donely/Briscoe, Burnet, Lampasas, Llano, Mason plus a few others occasionally.
