VW lol, far from a VW and the 911 engine is one of the most reliable ever built. This car is so good I don't want a new one, and that's saying something. I'm entertaining a CTS-V, we had that engine in our last MasterCraft, loved it, and love that CTS-V. Never selling this 911 though, and it's a convertible, goes well with a cigar.

This one is a Pro Late Model that is owned by someone else in Maryville, TN. This picture was last fall at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Nashville, TN. This was my first race in a PLM. The PLM cars are about 300 lbs lighter with offset chassis. They handle much better and go about a second per lap quicker than the black car that I own.

A late friend of mine took me to my first NHRA event (US Nationals, Indianapolis). He bet me a beer that the first words out of my mouth when the top fuel funny cars launched would be "holy sh!t". I've never concentrated on not saying something so hard in my life. Needless to say, I had to buy him a beer.

I've had my 2006 Cayman S since new and its been nothing but reliable. Only 55k miles though.
I actually just got to spend a day lapping the new 718 GTS around Road Atlanta at the Smokies GT event and I've gotta say I was really skeptical about the new turbo 4 cylinders. It will never replace the scream of the flat six but I have to admit I feel that Porsche is on to something with new 2.5 and 3.0 liter 4 cylinder Turbos. I was able to pull off a 1:32 around Road Atl which is roughly 6 seconds off the 911 GT3 track record and the 8 seconds off the overall production record held by the 991 GT2 RS.
The car I was driving was not entirely production. We had an ECU tune on it making about 80 HP over stock. But really great performance for about 200k less than a GT2.

I would be highly disappointed in a Kia or Hyundai if it started having engine or tranny problems before 100k miles. In fact German cars have about the worst resale value on the used market because all the problems they start to give after the 100k mile mark. I do love German cars though. The styling and performance is top notch.
