So, a 2016 with the 5.0L Wiley-Coyote now has a bad transfer case and the tranny is shuddering. 201K miles. I think this truck is going bye-bye. I can't see putting several thousand into a 200K mile truck. What to buy next......any suggestions? Toyota has a new platform, chevy won't put the 5.3 to bed, and......I can't get my head wrapped around Dodge. Hell, I'm considering Nissan at this point. Only thing I know for SURE is it won't be Ford again. That ship has sailed.
Friend has a 2021 Yukon AT3 with a 5.3 and just had the lifters replaced at 9k miles.

I read about that engine. 4-cyl, right? How many miles so far and what is your mpg?

We found a used 2019 with the 4.3 V-6 and are going to give that a try.

For what its worth, I have friends whose family owns a fairly large Ford dealership. They tell me they are repairing or replacing 5.0's due to phasers/cam issues/other quite a bit more than the 3.5TTs now. That's all the level of detail I got.

Except Chevy Cavaliers, after the nuclear apocalypse all that will be left are cockroaches and a few Cavaliers still running on 1 cylinder and the original oil.
