  • And then the boat goes into limbo where the shop has your seats and closes for the winter or the guy ghosts you or you go and he can't find the rear seat cushion and on and on or you get it back and they're wrinkled and puckered corners.

Its why I say there is not a value to a new interior...

  • Not sure on the plate, you could literally remove the internals of the MC pump and put a pick up tube in its place and reuse the plate.

Seems like a lot of work when we know the MC style in tank fuel module should be able to supply the pressure you need.

  • I wouldn't factor on finding skins, people throw that around like factory skins are just available to toss on. You're talking paying a guy to sew skins and probably install them at the very low end for all white vinyl maybe 3,000 to replicate the factory pattern, probably have embroidered logos 3 colors...

  • Question of how pricey... I'm not sure if this is TBI or MPI or both? As I see it if the LT-1 could probably get a different intake manifold, and converted to a TBI I've seen people have done this in corevette and I believe you can adapt to a normal distributor drive gear but if for 1-2 grand I could...

I like to run the boat off a bucket to make sure its drawing. Check all hose clamps if the engine can suck air it will.

If the previous guy was on a different lake maybe he did you a favor and tried to clean out for invasives.

I doubt the banks have any interest in holding the MSO that's a relatively difficult thing to liquidate its not like its going to go to a different malibu dealership as a new boat. They're probably not even complete and ready to sell knowing how poorly the big wake barges are put together each one...

As of 6pm today their parking lot was full and they have the Tommy's RV parked on it with the Malibu signs... But its hard to tell what of that is new inventory and what's customer boats, about a mile south of that was the old Tommy's which I think they still own this time of year its not uncommon for...

Bingo I tell people to do the jumper cable thing all the time FIRST and no one listens. A simple jumper cable test of the positive and negative cable should be one of the first things for starter and charging issues. The number of dead batteries that are simply bad grounds.......

I think what you run into is that for people the V-Drives are clearly superior. The pylon being in the rear seat, the presence of towers etc just opens up the boat so much compared to a DD.

All the DD do better is slalom skiing. That is it.

Its do you want a Chevy Suburban...

I don't think I've ever met someone who did that you'd want some antifreeze to run through that line anyway to make sure water wasn't sitting in the seal, I'd check if its actually oil or if its just thickened partially evaporated RV antifreeze.

I cannot imagine any transfluid leak could...

  • Let me know when you get a complete dash insert for the 87-90 vintage prostar. Its the one piece ABS unit wrapped in vinyl and they're all falling apart badly. Probably be nice to reinforce that area every single one of those and the later ones that ABS is crumbling held together by glue and viny...

Its funny I'm not "anti-tower" I'm not into surfing or wakeboarding but I've had roof racks on my BMW's for years and if you've ever had a tower on a closed bow boat you'll know how stinking handy they are to hold onto when hopping up onto the bow, to pull skiers/kneeboarder/discing/multiple...

The main issue is that tubes can essentially submarine or bucket and drastically exceed the towing capacity of the tower. In terms of anticipated load a surfer is the lowest, then knee boarders, wake boarders, slalom skiers and then finally tubes. Even a top end slalom skier you're talking somewhere...

The X2 shares a lot in common with the X-star which shares a lot in common with the late 205Vs and so forth. I have slalomed an X2 at bennetts one time its not that much worse than a Prostar 197 so long as you're going 34+ mph and 28 off. At 15 off 28 mph you're going to launch. Not sure how they...

Ya that's a quote from the minutes of the meeting from a friendly local lakefront owner. But then again that's your target audience, I believe he's a named partner of a law firm.

  • Always hard when people install non-factory stuff but looks like that's MEFI, rail pressure should be something like 45 psi. Which in tank is going to be needed at that type of PSI although you can do a low pressure in tank feeding a high pressure external fuel pump but the factory style pump will...

People will say that they're really not that hazardous after all the course balls are designed for skiers to rip back and forth through on a slalom ski with the boat going 36. The anchor lines have tear aways.

Generally the complaints are that the balls draw in not just waterskier traffic...

I think that's sort of the point. In Michigan to have a waterski course on a public lake you need a permit, that permit is essentially impossible to get on a public lake because its use isn't in the best interest of everyone else. Maybe make it equal you have a "surf course" permit hell...
