    Hello Jmann,

I had a question about your engine box insulation installation. I saw an old where you installed some 1" insulation from McMasters. I recently purchased the same stuff. My question is regarding the 1" thickness, wondering if it was too thick to fit correctly back over the engine? Also, how did yours installation material hold up to the heat?

    I have a 1997 Prosrat 190 w/ LT1....

    Thanks for any reply,

Hi JC. I have damaged the under side of my 03 X30 by hitting a granite boiler at 25 MPH up at Donner Lake. I see a few mentions of a guy in Tracy that does bottom repair. Can you please let me know his name and number?

Although I do have damage (most Fiberglas damage is at area or rudder plate as about an inch of the rudder bottom hit rock and as it flexed to the aft, tried to pry the rudder out of the boat leaving a crack about 1/8" at the front side of the rudder plate cavity.

I did get a price from a guy in Tahoe but for 60 hours of work, (not including parts or labor to replace prop, strut , shaft, rudder plate, and rudder not even R &R motor was $6,100.00!!!!!!

The guy has a great reputation but is OUTRAGEOUSLY HIGH!!

So any help would be appreciated

    Thank you, Bobby T

Hi Jmann, got your message. Maristar,
Where in the bay area are you? I live in the east bay in Pleasant Hill. I usually go out to the delta becuase it's about 40 minutes from my house. I just had a kid last month so this year there has been very little time on the water. Where do you usually go?

We have a vacation home in Copperopolis, so usually we go to Lake Tulloch which is about 2 miles from our home. It is really nice there with million dollar homes surrounding the perimeter of the lake.

When we want to just take a quik ride on the water, we go to Lake Del Valle in Livermore. The top speed there is 10mph, but in the back of the lake we get on it if there aren't any fisherman around. usually during the week there are no sherriff patrols as well, however on the weekend, look out! hehe The Sheriff has Long range Binoculars, so he will see you before you have time to slow down. I have seen many others get the ticket.

If during the weekend we have some extra time we go to Lake Hogan. They have many ramps there and it's a pretty good size lake without a speed limit. There are many nooks or fingers, as we like to call them where one can wakeboard or surf woithout too much intrusion. We also, like Lake Don Pedro which is so big that you can run out of gas if your not watching... the lakes we haven't gone to but would like are Whiskey Town, Lake Commanche, Lake Pardee, Lake Tahoe, and Mono Lake.

How have you been doing and have you done any upgrades to your boat?
