    I've tried surfing only a few times. What scares me, watching others around the lake do it, is the rope. Much of the time there's a lot of slack. What happened to MeyersRL would be my greatest concern. Bonk to the head is not good either, but that's a risk with any of these sports...

    My platform got looking partially like what you've shown there, twh67. I consulted the experts here and ended up pressure washing the *&^% out of it. Then I started with something like 120grit on the orbital, then maybe 200 IIRC (hand sanding corners etc) . Then I did the boiled linseed oil/mineral...

    Seen on the screen vs. actual - many variables to consider. Photographers use monitor calibration software and kits to address this, for important commercial / critical work.
