    Front bilge

I noticed my front bilge was coming on and staying on without any water coming out. Checked bilge and it looked like it had enough water in it to pump some out. Took the pump out. Thought maybe the float was stuck, but it's not. Cleaned out bilge area and screen covering the impellar, it was covered in gunk. Put pump in a bucket and hooked it to a different hose and it pumped water out. Blew compressed air through hose. Then filed the bilge with water and got it to pump out some water through the thru hull, but still not like it should. It did work a little better on the lake yesterday, but still kicked on without pumping any water out again. Any suggestions here? Is it not priming or something.

Instead of blowing the hose out with compressed air blow it out with a water hose. Air will not clean the hose as good as a high pressure water hose.you can even flush it both directions if you remove the bilge pump

That was my original plan. It's impossible to get a hose into the through hull. I believe it's an elbow connector. I'd need some kind of connector to hook a water hose to the bilge hose.

I just had this happen on my 2018 nxt 20 sounded like the pump was on but nothing coming out. i flipped the switch on and it quite a lot of water came out. investigated and found the optical sensor was bad. the only thing i can figure it 1 of two things it was slightly shorted not allowing ample amperage to spin the pump fast enough to build pressure or it was shorted in reverse. installed a new pump and it was all better

Yeah, I thought I might need a new pump, but when I put it in a bucket and hooked to a different hose running into my driveway it pumped water out immediately. When I put it back in the bilge it wasn't pumping until I unhooked the hose while it was on. Water immediately spraying out of the pump outlet. When I stuck the hose back on it did pump out slowly. It's possible there is a clog in the bilge hose, I just can't figure out how to run water in reverse through the thru hull.

Did you try just the spray nozzle on the end of a garden hose in the outlet on the side of the boat ?

Not yet, but that's about my only idea. I may just have water going everywhere.

Yeah, I just gotta pull it out. I don't want everything in my garage wet.

I'm stumped. I honestly think it's not priming, but how the heck would you prime it? It started running, but not pumping, again on Friday. I stuck my hand in and pulled off the hose. Instantly started pumping water everywhere. Put hose back on while it was pumping and it pumped all the water out.

Might be pumping but maybe not 100 percent. I would get a new pump

Just solved this problem on my X23. Bilge full of water, and the forward bilge kicked on but only pumped a few drops. Compressed air flowed easily, and water from a garden hose at the through-hull also flowed ok (not great). It turns out that the bilge hose was crimped between two ballast hoses beneath the floor where it passes under the driver's console. Just pop your access panels (in the floor) and follow the hose with your hand. There was virtually no visibility to the crimp, and I had to stretch to reach the problem. I simply used my fingertips to work the bilge hose loose, and the pump works fantastic now.

I installed a new pump. Lake tomorrow will see if that fixes it.
