X45 Wakesurf Setup
I would appreciate any feedback on wakesurf setup for an X45 for the port side.

I have played a few temp fat sacks and seem to get the best from the following.

Stock Ballast
- KGB full
- Port full
- Starboard empty

Added Ballast:
- 440# in rear port
- 440# in cooler storage port

Wake Plate:
- set at 50%

Any other persons that have found better setups I would certainly appreciate your feedback

We run a 750 & 250 in the port locker. We also run a 750 in the center ski locker. We have also put 400 against the back seat on the floor. Plus about 8-10 people some being kids. Then run the plate 3/4 down.

Best set up I have found for our 45 is all stock ballast full.........then 300 pound buddy on Port locker, and then 800 pound plus or so along port side and extra 300 pounds or so along port front side. Plate 1/2 to 3/4 about 11.7 on PP.

I installed the X-Star ballast bags and have not been able to dial them in yet. My extra ballast has always been with people and I have some big friends so I can move people around until I get the wave curling over and play with the plate. I do have consistent trouble when my 300 pound buddy is behind the boat and I loose his ballast weight. I hope the extra ballast bags will take care of that.

Depends on the number of passengers, but its typically port ballast full, plus a 650 lb sac in the port locker. Sometimes kgb filled half full, sometimes empty. Every passenger to the back port side.

Still havent tried adjusting the plate, need to do that.

we have been running with all factory ballast full,750 in the rear port storage, another 600 port side midway storage (under windshield) and if no one else is along throw my X2 sac, (400#s) rear seat port side. 9.4 mph, no plate.

I fill all Stock Ballast full. Then I add two 400lb fat sacs one in the rear compartment the other in the front seat to the either port or starboard depending on regular or goofy. Then add your passengers to that side as well. I have found that the attitude adjustment plate should not be used. It tends to wash out the wake. The speed needs to be adjusted to the weight of the surfer. Lighter riders are around 9-10mph. and the heavier including myself at 175lbs at about 11mph. I am planning on adding more ballast for size, but the shape is perfect.

rzafire, both port and starboard look great. What motor and prop are you running?

So this might be a bit of the over kill but it is awesome! We have a 2006 X45 with the high altitude prop and the 8.1L motor. We are also goofy riders but we have the KGB filled and the Stbd Side filled then a 750 in the locker 750 on the side seat and 3 400s running down the middle then everyone leaning off the boat and its a BEAST!:D:D And we ride at 11.7MPH its not long but its tall. Im 6'7" and its at my chest!

Have a 2008 x45. Riding with 750 rear locker port. Factory port. 400 under seat cooler. 750 on port seat. Kgb full. 150 front port seat. Fill cooler with water corner under bag on seat. Perfect surf wave with only two people on the boat.
