I just looked back on this thread to the point where you mentioned separating the deck. Why is this necessary to replace the carpet and vinyl? Hope this isn't a dumb question or did I miss something....

My opinion is that you did a great job removing the deck. Very well thought out as every other step of this restoration. I have to ask how you are going to support the hull during transportation?

Good advice here, Vince has many different lengths of cable, some in 1' increments. He will suggest going longer but it is better to remove it. Always use a "pull string" so you can get the new one...
