If you are going to use bolts to tighten and stop the slop which leads to wallowing of the holes use stainless and tighten them. If you want the pin to wear use something soft and don’t tighten.

Replace pin with a bolt and locknut and tighten and it will stop wallowing out.

A tight bolt introduces friction to stop the motion back and forth that quickly wears the aluminum.

Funny. Never seen over 81 on our lake down here in GA. But it is in the mountains, very deep and fed by a cold trout river. I NEVER would have guessed that Michigan lakes would get that warm.
