The only thing that comes to mind about the 2000...

The only thing that comes to mind about the 2000 era boats is the fuel pumps. Dealt with this on my boat once and my cousin's twice. Like you said "easy to wrench on" we replaced them ourselves...

If itís setup like the older versions its probably a bad relay. I had the same problem with mine and I could tap on the box that holds the timers and relays and get it to kick on.
