    Temperature gauge off?

Somehow the water temp gauge on my 2019 Xstar registered correctly briefly this season and now registers about 50-60 degrees off. The temp will still display that it is changing from 3, to 4, to 5 degrees, when the actual water temp is probably 60 degrees higher.

    Any thoughts on what might...

Here's the summary - and thanks to the forum for helping me through...

Yes, the rear end of the splines on the ACME prop are gone. Not sure how this happened, but I do know before I sent my boat in for service the prop was snug - now it goes about 1/4" past the shaft threads, so it...

Wow - even more information! the shaft strut had some funny wear on it, so dealer replaced under warranty. I'm assuming he did the shaft as part of that warranty work too... I will keep you posted. Here is a photo of the funny wear.

    OK - so more information...

I got back out to the lake and yes, it looks like the prop they supposedly put on from a new Xstar has dings in it - so that's most likely where my vibrations are coming from. But - I found out more...

So, I still was confused that the dealer said...

Bent prop may be the case, but supposedly they pulled it off a new boat. I am curious about the change in size too. I will post an update when resolved - and hopefully it was just a bad prop.

    Post Service X-Star Questions

2019 X-Star just got back from new Mastercraft dealer for service. I can tell they are bending over backwards to give gold level service. But....

Part of the service they did involved the replacing the strut that holds the shaft and the shaft.

I was a little puzzled when they...

Is anyone else not seeing even new photos/images? I get a "?" icon, but even clicking on those gets me a big black square. I'm running Safari, so maybe it's a Mac issue?

  • I"m not sure what you experienced, but when this happened on the center tab on my x-star, i feel like it was at least partially driven by the hinge point itself. I could not get the actuator hinge at the transom to even move w/out loosening the bolt. To me that means every time it was going up/down,...

  • LD 50 - thanks for the response. I was just about ready to do a 2nd post about the strut wear. There is no play on the prop, the splnes seem to be holding it where it should be, and there is no visible sign of ding/etc on the prop.

I have had 2 instances of hitting debris and then needing...

  • Now I remember that thread - thanks! Like i said, i think one contributor was the hinge being so tight - I could not move it w/ my hands prior to loosening.

Anybody have any thoughts on the strut? should i be worried about that wear?

19 Xstar center tab & strut issue

So, pulled in last night and found the center tab on my 19 xstar was hanging. Looks like it pulled the bracket off the boat. It seems like the hinge on the bracket was super tight - I'm guessing maybe the extra force trying to pull it in and out eventually pulled the screws out. Has anybody else experienced...

    Night Surfing?

How many out here are night surfing, and what setup seems to work best?

I've seen some using stern tower lights and riders w/ glow sticks.

  • Wow, this board is great! Here I thought I had some obscure issue. Does turning off the answer calls/texts option eliminate this or does it persist even then?

    Incoming bluetooth call disrupts audio?

    I have a 2019 X-Star w/ factory audio.

I noticed yesterday that the audio was sounding very good, then an incoming call came in on my phone. I ignored the call, but the audio continued with less volume, slight buzz and fuzziness. The only thing I could do to get it back to "good",...
