1996 pro star rear corner panels

does anyone know how to remove these? i have removed nuts from two studs that seem to hold the ends, but the corner seems to be held tight by something? does the top panel you sit on perhaps have to be removed? not sure if there are any hidden studs to...

  • Looking for Exhaust Flaps 1995 Pro Star (LT1)

Hi there - Ski Dim does not carry these. MC dealer says they don't have the approx. 5 inch rubber part of the flap that is mounted with a metal retaining clip. Dealer suggest Home Depot. Buy some rubber, trace, and cut out new ones. I would prefer new ones if I can find two? Thoughts?

  • So can someone tell me if I am being stupid (unsafe). I replaced the stainless return line connection into the brass coupler/reducer with a brass part with gas hose barbs, used a 2 inch section of steel reinforced gas line, slid the line over the steel return line flare and double clamped in. The leak...

  • Gas Line Parts for 1995 MC Prostar w/LT1

Hello team members - I am perplexed as I have a great condition 95 MS with LTI that is out of service due to the return gas line leaking at the brass piece that connects this stainless line to the fuel pump. I brass part has been stripped. I called DIM and they cannot even get the gas line any longer...

Not a problem. The technician at Rock Auto was awesome actually. He said there is obviously a mistake with either the technical specification or the drawing at Carter; so if I wanted I could go ahead at try the P60987 and if it did not work, he would warranty it out and refund my purchase price plus...

Alright, here is where I landed. I confirmed with Carter that the specifications for the P60987 are 40-57 PSI even though the casing is stamped (per the drawing) with TBI-25 PSI MAX. So I ordered one from Rock Auto ($32), installed it Saturday, and ran it for 3 hours with several starts and stops pulling...

Hey Mike - just got my P60987 from Rock Auto and it has markings that say TBI 25 PSI max (I see you had the same experience before on a different thread). This does not make sense given Carter engineer said this part is rated 40-57 PSI. I am calling them back first thing in am before I install and own...

I like this idea. It appears as though the PSI loss would be minimal, if any, by adding this filter in-line between the tank and pump as it looks to be a direct, low resistance pass through (one thread says you can blow through the filter with no resistance). My fuel pump inlet screen did have about...

Cool - so now I have two pumps on order with expedite on the $32. When I get my awesome machine running again I will follow up on this thread to let you know the results. If it works, I am ordering a spare, or two :-)

Talked with Carter Pumps technical support - they say the P60987 is rated 40-57 PSI/40-65 gall/hour (too strong for carbs) and the P60962 is rated 60-120 PSI/44-63 gall/hour. Given the LT-1 specification in the owners manual says required pressure is 30-45 PSI, it would seem to me that both pumps "should...

Alternate Fuel Pump - Owners Manual Specs

I have a 95 LT1 and have been looking for a replacement fuel pump. My Owners Manual says my LT-1 requires 30-45 PSI. If the P60987 goes up to 35 PSI - seems like this should work just fine until the inlet screen gets clogged
    For $32...

Hey Mike - BarefootWt here on this thread now. I have been on the phone with Indmar and inboardonline and looking at the Rock Auto web site. Are you saying the P60987 is a substitute for the P60962 (no longer available)? I spoke with someone who said that "all the pumps that look the same and fit...
