Hello all. The lenses on my '01 X-Star (205v) are all cracking. They have developed numerous little cracks about 1/8" long. Does anybody know if you can get replacement lenses? Or will the gauges need replaced?
Thanks,
Brett

My 01 x-star did not have a floor access hatch when I bought the boat. I installed one, which was not difficult.

Do you still have the stock KGB ballast using aerator pumps? If yes, I'd check them for leaks.Last edited by BG1772; 07-30-2015, 05:54 PM.

Do you remove the knock sensor to drain the block when winterizing? I've had the same thing happen two years in a row and I really feel like the sensor is getting damaged when I remove it to winterize.

Don't forget, it is normally about 68 degrees and rainy every day.

Forgive me if this has already been said, but I had a similar sounding issue. It ended up being the connection from the battery to the starter. The eyelet had broken lose but still appeared connected. Until I jiggled it and the wire came off in my hand. If memory serves it was about a 10ga wire....

Hey nullpointer. I have no real experience other than flat hollow, which is where I will be heading this weekend. If you see a yellow X45 stop and say hi.

To troubleshot my silencer issue, I removed it from the boat. It should be held in place by some big hose clamps. Once removed, I could hear bits of the fiberglass (or whatever these are made of) moving around in there. I took a piece of wood and pushed on the "shelf", inside the silencer,...

Do you have an exhaust silencer? I had a very similar sounding issue where at higher expected speeds, the out flow of water and exhaust would cause the "shelf" in the silencer to block the out ports. This essentially choked the engine to the point that it couldn't go faster.

I've always heard that you just want to flush the system with new break fluid until clean fluid comes out the bleeders at the breaks. Start with the furthest bleeder from the master cylinder.
